All kinds of interesting tidbits are filling in the bio on McCain running mate Sarah Palin. Here’s one he just noted in his speech: Palin is a former union member, and her husband still is a union member. Wow, when was the last time someone on a major ticket could say that, let alone a Republican?
I’ll keep updating this as other tidbits come along.
Is that music to introduce Sarah Palin or is it for the trailer for the movie about introducing Sarah Palin?
Did you notice how he barely embraced her. How they related to each other physically will get noticed in the next few weeks. These two can’t go around kissing each other like Obama and Biden.
I could honestly see this woman at a PTA meeting talking about her kids. She seems like any neighborhood mom.
If she clears the experience hurdle she will be deadly on the trail. She might even overshadow McCain.
“Nuculer”! Not again!
Yeah, ConnScript. This is a very, very good pick. Scary, even.
People are trying to make this into an experience debate, but it isn’t. No one cares about experience this year. This year is about change, and McCain couldn’t have made a better choice within the constraints of his party platform.
Sarah Palin is going to be a formidable opponent, and I think folks on my side are underestimating her because she does look like a PTA mom. This is a treacherous mistake. She has the makings of a cunning, Machiavellian politiican – for God’s sake, look at what she’s being investigated for. Nothing that’s going to cost her too many political points, but something in which she clearly used the power of her office to knock somebody down.
She’s going to have the ability to draw a considerable amount of female support towards McCain. I can only hope that it’s not enough to tip the scales and cancel out the effect of the amazing event we saw during this past week.
I was tremendously impressed with her speaking skills. She’s not a world-class orator but she’s quite effective. Strong and firm, but in a likeable way not an off-putting way. She connects well with the crowd, delivers line competently, and comes across as authentic.
