Possibly not the best post to follow this Friday Afternoon Chillout, but at the same time possibly the best idea ever…

There was a great DC vs. Marvel comic series years ago. I can’t remember all the fights, but Superman beat The Hulk, Captain America beat Batman, Spiderman beat Superboy and Silver Surfer beat The Green Latern.
They should make that into a video game.
Yes, excellent idea. On the movie side, I also can’t wait until Dark Knight gets released. The trailer looks amazing(esp. Heath Ledger, God rest his soul, as Joker perhaps matching or surpassing Jack Nicholson’s performance). If it’s even merely as good as Batman Begins, it will be amazing. I love these darker takes on traditional comic book heroes – they take on a new dimension when the right artist transports these characters into new media. They draw in even people like me, even though I was never a real comic book fan or avid video gamer.
Speaking of MK, for some reason whenever I hear Speaker Pelosi speak sarcastically about Republicans, esp. Bush, I imagine the Mortal Kombat voice suggesting things like “EXTEND IRONIC HAND OF FRIENDSHIP!” or “GESTICULATE WILDLY AND COMBATIVELY!” or “FINISH THEM!”
I guess it’s just me.
Haha, that’s funny.
I agree–looks cool. I’m glad there is a true popular resurgence of the comics(moives, games, and the actual books… (now carried at borders, so you don’t have to deal with the guy from the simpsons to buy them…). They were a huge part of popular culture from the end of the second world war up until the mid-70’s (ish) (i think DC may have gone chapter 11 in the eighties or early 90’s even…)
